1958

Modern Finance Ministry framework

The Finance (Control and Management) Ordinance established the institutional framework for managing the Federation’s public finances.

1959

MOFI established

The Ministry of Finance Incorporated Act created the Federal Government’s asset-holding institution.

2013

Service delivery reforms

Administrative structures such as General Services supported a stronger Federal Civil Service operating model.

2016

Cash management strengthened

The Cash Management Department was created following institutional changes around the Budget Office.

2020

IDEC moved online

The Import Duty Exemption Certificate process was operationalised through an automated gateway.

Today

Digital reform & engagement

The Ministry now combines core fiscal management with digital portals, investment engagement and reform-delivery platforms.
